Conocimientos del profesional de Enfermería en cuidados al recién nacido en fototerapia

Resumen

Introduction: Phototherapy is a therapeutic measure used in the case of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia and nursing care is fundamental for the success of this therapy. Objective: To determine the knowledge of nurses about newborn care in phototherapy. Methodology: Descriptive cross-sectional study, shown for the convenience of 35 nurses of different shifts. Instrument was applied with 23 reagents: five on sociodemographic information and 18 on phototherapy care.


Results: 97.1% of the investigated know the procedure, 2.9% unknown. Regarding the side effects 54% knew them and 46% did not know them.


Conclusions: Professionals do not have 100% of the knowledge considered in the protocol for phototherapy, so it is not guaranteed quality care. It is concluded that the level of nursing knowledge in this study was regular.
